general rules
Our Phoenix Wushu National Online Competition will follow the 1999 IWUF Rules may be adjusted slightly at the Head Judge's discretion. Scroll down to find out more about our specific rules.
Competition Regulations
a) Modern Wushu will follow the IWUF 2024 Competition Rules.
b) Traditional Wushu follows the IWUF 2019 Traditional Wushu Routine Competition Rules.
c) No technical (A Score) or difficulty scoring (C Score) will be applied to Wushu events in the online competition.

Age groups
All divisions will be separated by gender. Age groups will be determined by the year you were born.
G1. 6 Years Old & Under
G2. 7 - 8 Years Old
G3. 9 - 10 Years Old
G4. 11 - 12 Years Old
G5. 13 - 14 Years Old
G6. 15 - 16 Years Old
G7. 17- 18 Years Old
G8. 19 - 25 Years Old
G9. 26 - 30 Years Old
G10. 31 - 36 Years Old
G11. 37 - 55 Years Old
G12. 56 Years Old & Above

online video rules & requirements
These rules apply to all competitors
key competition rules

Video Recording: Must be one continuous take, with the camera fixed in front of the competition area, ensuring the entire body is in frame. Videos must be filmed at a height of 4- 5 feet.

Identification: Before beginning, the athlete must hold a letter-sized paper clearly displaying their name and event code, reading it aloud. Athletes must perform a palm-fist salute before beginning the routine.

Performance: Athletes must start and end in the center of the frame, facing the camera and bowing.

Allowed/Forbidden: No editing, audio enhancement, or speed changes. Only horizontal camera movement is allowed.

Videos must be recorded within two months of the registration deadline. The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify any video that does not meet these requirements, and registration fees will not be refunded.

If an event has fewer than three competitors in an age group, it may be merged with a similar event.
uniform & Attire

Competition uniforms and weapons must adhere to the IWUF 2024 competition rules, although specific requirements regarding weapon length and weight are not strictly enforced.
Submission requirements

All videos must be HD 1080P resolution or higher

No editing or AI allowed

In online competitions, there are no penalties for going over the time limit, but the standard performance durations are as follows:

Traditional Wushu and Modern Wushu: Maximum of 2 minutes

Tai Chi, Health Qigong, Tai Chi Weapons: Maximum of 4 minutes

Wushu group events: Maximum of 4 minutes

Tai Chi and Tai Chi Weapons group events: Maximum of 6 minutes

waiver & Liability
All participants are required to secure their own insurance coverage, including but not limited to medical, personal injury, liability, travel, and illness insurance. Additionally, to qualify for competition, participants must confirm their acceptance of the liability waiver through the online registration system. Once athletes choose to participate in the championships, they hereby indemnify Phoenix Wushu LLC, Phoenix Wushu Nationals, and all related organizations
